Meet the Docs

At Tosa Pediatrics, we believe that parents have a choice in selecting a pediatrician who is the best for their family. Meet our providers below.

All our providers are on staff at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Birth Center, Wheaton Franciscan St. Joseph Milwaukee, Wheaton Franciscan Elmbrook Memorial, and West Allis Memorial Hospital.

Timothy M. Richer, MD, FAAP

As the son of Thomas J. Richer, MD (retired 2005), I grew up in Wauwatosa and have fond memories of raiding the candy drawer with my brothers and sister when the practice was located on 79th and Burleigh. I attended McKinley Elementary and Longfellow Middle School, and graduated from Tosa East. I attended the University of Wisconsin for my undergraduate degree in biomedical ethics and then the University of Wisconsin Medical School where I received my M.D. in 1998. I was fortunate to attend St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia for my residency training and am still close to my classmates despite their opinion of my Wisconsin accent.

My wife, Syma, and I met and were married in her hometown of Philadelphia. We moved to Milwaukee in 2002 when I joined the practice.  We have three children who keep us busy coaching and running a car service for their activities. Over the past few years, we have also been busy visiting National Parks as well as our family at the New Jersey Shore.

I believe in letting kids be kids. They are incredible creatures and with some straightforward guidance, we can set them on one of many healthy paths. Rather than be inflexibly dogmatic, I try hard to work with families to solve problems and meet their needs by offering options in a way that works in each of their unique social units. Having just recently seen my very first Tosa Peds babies graduate, I can truly say that being a part of their journeys is a tremendous privilege!

Timothy D. Marsho, DO, FAAP

I joined Tosa Pediatrics in 2013. My dad and Dr. Tom Richer (retired Tosa Pediatrics physician) were college fraternity brothers and remain close to this day. After attending the University of Notre Dame for my undergraduate degree and Midwestern University for medical school, I completed my pediatric residency at Loyola University in Chicago. I went on to complete a chief residency year and previously worked with Affinity (now Ascension) in Neenah, WI.

I married my high school sweetheart, and we have three children. I enjoy spending my spare time supporting my kids in their various activities and being an active member of the Wauwatosa community. Raised in Sheboygan, I proudly support the local teams and also my beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I enjoy many of the outdoor activities that Wisconsin has to offer, most notably the fantastic golf courses in our area. I am quite competitive in the office fantasy football league but have never won the championship.

I enjoy partnering with parents to determine how to best care for your child. I enjoy the unique challenges found across various age groups in pediatrics and admire the resiliency of both my patients and their parents.

Nicole E. Krimmer, MD, FAAP

Children are resilient, energetic, and a joy to be around (usually). When it comes to a child’s health, it is never about only the child in isolation - the whole family must be considered. I work to discuss options with input from families to find what will work best for their particular situation. We have the opportunity to form healthy habits from a young age that will persist for years to come. Let’s teach our children how to take care of their bodies as well as their minds and respect who they are as individuals. What a privilege I have to watch children grow from birth all the way to adolescence, both in times of health and illness. I look forward to being a trusted partner on this incredible and challenging journey that is parenthood.

I live in Wauwatosa with my husband and two young daughters. I enjoy being outside with my girls, reading, drinking lattes, and exercising.

I received my B.S. from Marquette University in 2009 and my M.D. degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2013. I completed my pediatrics residency training at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in June of 2016 and am board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Kimberly Kastner, MD, FAAP

I grew up listening to bedtime stories of “How Things Work” by my father, and seeing compassion for others demonstrated by my mother. Naturally, I felt called to the field of medicine, and pediatrics was a terrific fit, as it is a joy to encourage and guide families, from the uncertainties of newborn times to the reward of graduating to adulthood. I strive to respectfully listen to and support families as we work out the challenge of a child’s health problem, and I blend academic knowledge with the personal wisdom I have gathered as a parent to my own children, Zoe and Miles.

When not at the office, you can find me at home in Brookfield reading and doing puzzles, helping the children’s department at church with my husband, Mark, planning Disney and hiking trips with our family, and snuggling our newly adopted dog, Max.

I grew up in Brookfield and graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, in 1997. I attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and received my MD in 2001. I completed my pediatrics residency at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in 2004 and am board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. I joined our practice in August 2018.

Jennifer Glamann, MD, FAAP

I was raised in Horicon, WI, the oldest child of five children born to two teachers. It was during my college years working as a certified nursing assistant at a pediatric clinic that I knew I wanted to be a primary care pediatrician. I see it as a privilege and honor to join families on their child's health journey. I enjoy the sharing of information, brainstorming together, and making evidence-based recommendations to promote happy, healthy lives for all children.

I graduated from UW-Platteville, and then attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and received my MD in 2009. My pediatric residency brought me to University of Michigan, where I then practiced as an outpatient pediatrician for six years. My family moved back to Wisconsin in 2018, where I joined an independent pediatric clinic.

On the personal side, I met my husband at swimming lessons at age 9. We have been married for 12 years, and we have three children and a beagle/blue heeler mix, Maple. As a family we enjoy running, boating, attending Badger football games, and playing board games-- Splendor is our favorite, and I love hearing suggestions for new games to try.

Matthew Nersesian, MD, FAAP

I look forward to meeting new families and working as a team to help your children stay happy and healthy. Kids are goofy and fun, and not a day goes by without me laughing or smiling. When children get sick, it can be incredibly difficult to deal with, but it never ceases to amaze me how resilient and positive both children and parents are during tough times. I enjoy all areas of pediatrics, including newborn care, child development, health maintenance, injury prevention, sports medicine, and asthma management. I await the challenges I face every day as a pediatrician, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else.

I was born and raised in Racine and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. I attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, where I received my MD in 2010, and completed my pediatric residency at Children’s Wisconsin in 2013. I've spent the last decade practicing in the North Shore, though my wife and I settled in Wauwatosa in 2015. Together with our four children, we've made Wauwatosa our own, and I am honored to care for the families within the community I call home. I love being a father and feel it has made me a better person — and a better pediatrician, too. I'm a die-hard Wisconsin Badgers fan, and when I am not getting too emotionally invested in Badger sports, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending my children’s many activities, going up north, and all types of sports.

I feel very privileged to be a part of this wonderful practice, and to care for the children in this great community. I look forward to helping you keep your children healthy and safe.

Hannah Braun, PA-C, MPAS

During my student rotation at Tosa Pediatrics I discovered a love for pediatric medicine while studying under Dr. Richer and Dr. Stabelfeldt. After two years of working in orthopedic surgery in Massachusetts, I was fortunate to be offered a position as the first physician assistant at Tosa Pediatrics.

I am privileged to be able to guide my young patients and their families to both physical and mental well-being. I am truly grateful to be able to serve the Wauwatosa community.

I grew up in Wauwatosa and in 2010 received my Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. I joined the practice in November 2012.

Jenny D. Kovach, MD, FAAP

My interest in medicine came first from my interest in dance and sports physiology, nutrition, and wellness. I firmly believe that our health is shaped by our families, communities, nutrition, exposures, and experiences. I love pediatrics in part because children offer us an opportunity to practice true preventive medicine and affect a lifetime of good health. Growing kids into people is a huge challenge, but helping guide families and kids through years of growth, and healing through illness, has made my career in pediatrics incredibly rewarding. The longer I practice medicine (and the longer I parent my own kids) I’ve learned that there is rarely one “right” answer when it comes to health or raising children; I work hard to have families and kids understand and invest in their own healthcare decisions.

I grew up in New Mexico, went to college at UT Austin, returned to Albuquerque for medical school, and then headed up to the Northwest for pediatric residency at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. Love and work brought me to Wauwatosa in 2008, and my husband and I surprised ourselves by falling in love with the community here. My three kids now attend these schools, ride their bikes through these neighborhoods, and proudly consider themselves cheeseheads. In my ever-evolving search for work-life balance, I have spent many years doing shift work in Urgent Care and ER settings at Children’s Wisconsin. I have been working part-time at Tosa Pediatrics since 2022.

Cathy Bril, PA-C, MPAS

cathy-bril-physician-assistant-PA

Pediatric medicine has been my passion since I began my PA career in 2000. I consider it a privilege to help patients and families navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes of healthy development from infancy through adolescence.

A transplant from Omaha, NE, I began my professional career with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from Marquette University in 1992. In 2000 I received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Marquette and began practicing pediatric medicine. I soon began teaching pediatric medicine part-time for the Marquette PA program and transitioned to a full-time teaching position in 2008. As a Clinical Associate Professor, I am afforded the time to continue seeing patients in the clinical setting. I am board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. I joined the amazing team of providers at Tosa Pediatrics in the summer of 2022.

I am blessed to have made it to the other side of parenthood with my adult son, Jack. Now that I’m an empty nester, I enjoy traveling, hiking, playing disc golf, and attending live theater and concerts. Wauwatosa has been my home since 2013.

Kiera Akers, DNP

It has been an honor and privilege to dedicate my career to caring for children and their families; children are precious gifts and deserving of the utmost protection and care. I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016 and practiced at Children’s Wisconsin for five years on their oncology and bone marrow transplant inpatient unit before joining the Tosa Pediatrics team as an RN in 2021. I could not have asked for a more special place to begin my nursing career; walking with families through cancer treatment not only made me a better nurse, but a stronger, more empathetic, and resilient advocate for my patients. I began my education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner in 2020 and graduated with my Doctorate in Nursing Practice in May of 2024 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Badger nurse x2!). My entire training as an NP was specific to pediatrics; during clinical rotations I spent time in pediatric genetics, cardiology, adolescent medicine, palliative care, and of course primary care at Tosa Pediatrics! I am thrilled to be continuing on the Tosa Peds team as a pediatric NP providing care after hours. We understand that kids get sick outside of business hours and are excited to be able to offer extended evening hours. In addition to my role at Tosa Peds, I am the NICU Developmental Follow-Up Clinic NP at Waukesha Memorial Hospital where I see patients once a week. I am board certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

My husband and I had our first baby (a little boy!) in February of 2024. Outside of the clinic, you can find me spending time with family, friends, our church community, and spoiling our big golden retriever, Randall. I enjoy spending time outside, running, strength training, and our Tosa treasures like the zoo and the Hoyt Park Beer Garden in the summertime. Thank you for allowing me to partner with you in caring for your kiddos!
