Dr. Kastner shares a personal message

Hello dear Tosa Pediatrics families & friends,

Some of you may have heard that I’m going to be out of the office this March for a handful of weeks. While I wish it was for a fabulous trip around the world, unfortunately I will be staying in “exotic” Wisconsin for surgery and recovery.

A few months ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer - thankfully, it was picked up very early on routine mammogram, and I already had surgery to remove the area and was relieved to find that I do NOT need chemo! So this surgery is for future prevention and to avoid the need for radiation treatments.

I am confident that God is leading me through each step, but I greatly appreciate all of your prayers and support, especially over the next month!

I will miss all the baby snuggles and big kid laughs, and look forward to seeing you again soon (although I might be moving a bit slowly at first).

Your local breast cancer survivor pediatrician,

Kim Kastner

PS — when you are old enough for a mammogram, please get yours!
